Its an interesting fact of human psychology that when something horrendous happens to a person or persons. This causes other members of the community to feel negative feelings such as: helpless, fear, shame and or guilt , Feeling the above – causes some to then blame the victim for being abused. Doing this numbs out the helplessness, fear or guilt. So if you are thinking things like – why don’t they stop protesting? what was the big deal about those tents? What the big deal with the word decolonize, it’s just a word, isn’t it? Why cant we just not see color, why are we still talking about racism? you might want to consider that such thoughts are keeping you from taking action to protect and support the hearts and souls of other human beings as well as yourself. And it’s only a matter of time before the abuse others are experiencing will come to your door and visit you…. Remember, an injury to one, is an injury to all.
